Samuel Hood, 1st Viscount Hood (b. 12 December 1724, Butleigh, England–d. 27 January 1816. London, England) was an officer in the British Royal Navy. The son of Samuel Hood, a vicar, he entered the Royal Navy in 1741 and served on Ludlow. He became a lieutenant in 1746 and was commander of Jamaica in 1754.
